Attn: LMHA families and players
The Province of Alberta and City of Lethbridge have changed the mandates and restrictions put in place for youth in sports. As a result of these changes, Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association has chosen to revise the statement put out on September 17, 2021 regarding vaccine protocol. The revised protocol is as follows.
LMHA will require all coaches, bench staff and managers be fully vaccinated by October 25, 2021, and to provide proof of vaccination to LMHA; or documentation of a medical exemption or a negative Covid-19 test. These tests are effective for two weeks.
Next, all youth participants that are solely participating in hockey practices and games will not require proof of vaccination, medical exemption, or a negative Covid-19 test.
Finally, all spectators, must provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or Covid-19 test prior to entering any City of Lethbridge operated recreation and culture facility. LMHA requests that this information be shown (not collected) to the designated person on your child’s team, we will create a small card specific to you confirming that proof of vaccination has already been provided. You will need to have this card on you any time you are at a practice, game or tournament. Please be aware that out of town games and tournaments may require you to present your actual vaccine documentation prior to admittance to the rink. For any spectators who have not received a card, they will be required to provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or Covid-19 test prior to entering any City of Lethbridge operated recreation and culture facility.
We appreciate that there has been a great deal of information shared over the last few days, and we are grateful for your patience as we work through this information to ensure we are providing a safe environment for your children to have a great hockey season.
