ATOM CITY PLAYOFFS
All teams will advance to the playoffs.
If there is a tie in the standings the following rules ( in order ) will be used to break the tie.
Head to head between the teams tied.
The playoffs will start the weekend of February 28, 2020, finish March 13 weekend.
No affiliate players can be used during the playoffs. Emergency goalies can be used. Substitute Goaltender Request forms must be completed and signed by local Minor Hockey Association.
Game 1 in the any series (except finals) CAN END in a tie.
The playoffs will be played via a 2 game total point series (like provincial play downs) meaning you will play 2 games (1 home and 1 away) and the total score will be added in both games and the team with the biggest total will win the series (eg: if you lose the first game 4-1, you must win the 2nd game by more than 3 to win the series).
If a series is tied after the second game there will be a 5 mins run time 4 on 4 overtime followed by 5 mins run time 3 on 3 overtime followed by a 3 player shootout. There WILL NOT be a flood going into overtime.
There will be a 10 goal max as well, meaning no more than 10 goal spread on the scoreboard. Ex 0-10, 1-11,2-12,3-13. Yes, we are in playoffs but we are still playing for fun.
The winners will keep advancing to the finals. When a team has lost the series, they are out of the playoffs and their season is done.
Each team will play one “home†and one “visitor†game.
The finals will be a best of 3 series with the team that wins 2 games first being declared the champion. Tie games in the FINAL game will be decided the same as the previous rounds of the playoffs. The winner of Series 5 will be the home team for game 1 and 3(if necessary).
The pools will be as follows based on standings.
