Job brief
We are seeking an experienced Social Media and Marketing person to help us build our brand and to effectively engage with targeted virtual communities and network users.
Our objective is to achieve engagement, drive website traffic, and increase knowledge through strategic utilization of the social media marketing roadmap.
The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of various social media platforms and how to optimize content for maximum engagement.
As a representative of Lethbridge Minor Hockey, you will actively participate in relevant conversations, promoting our programs while providing information to existing and potential Lethbridge Minor Hockey members.
Your savvy in social media marketing will be essential in achieving our branding goals and seeking new revenue opportunities through attracting sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
- Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and relevant stories to our community.
- Set up and optimize our organization pages within each platform to increase the visibility of our social content
- Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
- Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
- Actively seek out sponsorship opportunities
- Generate or collect advertising assets
- Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
- Collaborate with the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Office to manage communication on social media platforms.
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist
- Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
- Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, social media platforms
- Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
- Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organisational ability
- Fluency in English
- Candidates shall possess skills in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations
- High level of autonomy and self-motivation
