Lethbridge July Goalie Camp:
The Lethbridge Goalie Camp will be run by Hockey Alberta Goalie Lead Matt Weninger,
The camp will feature:
The week will consist of progressive content focusing on skating, puck tracking and game situation drills.
The cost for the camp is:
Novice, Atom, Pee Wee goalies (3:1 goalie to instructor ratio) - $590 for the week
Pee Wee + Bantam goalies (2.5:1 goalie to instructor ratio) - $765 for the week
*Note - Pee Wee goalies have the option to which group they would like to attend.
Matt Weninger- Matt is the Regional Manager for the South Regional Centre and the Goaltending Lead with Hockey Alberta . He is currently the Goalie Coach for the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL), the University of Lethbridge Mens and Womens Pronghorns teams.
Matt Wong - Matt is current Goalie Coach for the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) after spending five seasons with the Brooks Bandits (AJHL).
Tyson Verhelst - Tyson is the Regional Goalie Lead for Hockey Alberta.
Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey School
Hockey Alberta in partnership with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Lethbridge Minor Hockey are running an incredible development opportunity for young athletes to learn from Hurricanes staff and Hurricanes players.
The camp will be open to Novice, Atom and Pee Wee players. A large emphasis will be placed on skating, puck handling, passing and shooting using both Small Area play as well as tactical and technical teaching by some of the best instructors in Alberta. Utilizing the support of Hockey Alberta to instill the values of the Long Term Player Development Model the Hurricanes staff look forward to supporting the next generation of Lethbridge Hurricanes players!
The Lethbridge Hurricanes Summer Hockey School will feature:
2 hours on-ice per day
2 hours off-ice per day, including multi-sport activities as well as hockey specific training
Lunch served daily
Parents have the ability to drop their young athlete off in the morning and pick-up at the end of the day.

Matt is the Skills and Development Coach for the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Matt was a leader in his playing days, becoming the Captain at the University of Alaska-Anchorage (NCAA Division I) before being given an opportunity to take the lead on Skill and Player Development with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
He has also been a Facilitator and Instructor for several Hockey Alberta clinics and camps. Matt’s experience with Hockey Alberta and the Lethbridge Hurricanes give him a great ability to coach players of all ages and experience.
Nancy will be in charge of the skating development for the Hockey School. Nancy has a deep background in skating coaching. She works extensively for Lethbridge Minor Hockey and is a Skate Canada certified skating instructor.
Jeff is the Assistant Coach for the Lethbridge Hurricanes and has been for the past three years. Jeff has also been an Assistant Coach for Hockey Canada’s U17 Program. His playing career included stops in the ECHL and CHL.
Matt is the Regional Manager for Hockey Alberta as well as the Goalie Coach for the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL). Matt was born and raised in Lethbridge before accepting an NCAA Division I Scholarship to St. Lawrence University.
